#55 - New Year's Day Clock Tower

I was supposed to be up and out early, shooting the first sunrise of the New Year, but I overslept, as I mentioned in yesterday's post. So, this is the first photo I took in 2009, and according to my camera, I took the shot at 1:09 PM!! I'm not confused at all, as I'm sure some of you must be by now looking at the time(s) on the clock tower! I prefer to believe my camera, so this photo was shot on 1/1/09 at 1:09! WOW!

This is a view of the north and west faces, shot from the Walgreens parking lot. And, no, I wasn't there for hangover medicine - I don't drink. LOL

It was just a sliver, but it was bright, and the sky was more than awesome for me yesterday morning.

#40 - From The Intersection

I shot this on my way out of Champions Gate this morning. It was a miserable morning - I had a flatter than flat flat - but the day was wonderful otherwise. Not because I did anything special or had any major breakthrough with my ongoing problem, but the weather was glorious, hitting about 78F with a nice breeze. That's enough to turn an otherwise crappy day into something special.

#29 - Bigger Than Life

Arnold Palmer was the reason for the famous golfers being here this weekend, that's him hanging on the lamppost (well, a photo of him). The DelWebb Father Son Challenge at ChampionsGate is held every year to benefit the Arnold Palmer Hospital, and the golfers can't wait to get here to participate and enjoy one another's company. They say it's a real family affair and everyone is in a good mood. Sounds like my trips to Sweet Old Ma's house, lol.

#24 - Pretty Morning

I shot this a few days ago when the sky was looking so pretty. I've been a bad boy, haven't shot the clock in two days! But don't worry, I have hundreds in reserve, lol.

#20 - Today's 'On The Run' Clock

I made a quick stop near the Clock Tower so I could record the conditions in the sky around 10:30 this morning. I didn't have time to make a comprehensive photographic study today, because my truck wasn't feeling well and I had to get it to the hospital. (Funny, I used to have a customer that called himself Auto Doc.) Oh well, $201 plus change later, I'm happy to say truck is well, but sad to say I'm depressed. LOL

#8 - Through The Median

I shot this view of the John Lennon (north) and Ringo Starr (west) faces through the driver's side window while I was sitting at a red light yesterday morning. I rolled the window down first.

You know the old saying, Practice Makes Perfect? That's what I'm doing. I'm practicing taking photos of the Clock Tower; taking them from every angle, during every kind of weather, every kind of lighting, day and night, hoping to improve with each shot.

#6 - Time Waits For No One

And the correct time is: Paul McCartney has it. The south face of the clock tower is just about right. The west face, or Ringo Starr (lol) seems to be fast all the time. But what can we expect, Ringo is a drummer, and drummers have to be fast.

I shot this on my way out to work this morning. WORK! Does anyone remember Maynard G. Krebs? I do. I loved that show. The G. stood for Walter. Figure that out! My grandfather's first name was Walter. I wonder if he ever watched Dobie Gillis?

Just a little something to entertain and make you think tonight. I'm heading out the door in a few minutes to try to shoot some photos of the Space Shuttle launch. I have no idea if I'll be able to, but at least it won't be WORK.
