#94 - Watercolor

I was up all night painting this watercolor of the Champions Gate Clock Tower. I hope you like it.

#76 - A Good Looking Truck

I'd like to say that's my new truck, but my luck has been exactly the opposite lately. As a matter of fact, if it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all. How cliche, I know. But ...

#75 - Big Puffies

I have three things to say:

1) The weather was gorgeous today,
2) and the sky was beautiful ...
3) and Roger Federer is in the semis at the Australian Open, because he beat Del Potro today. So is Andy Roddick, the lone American on the mens side, and he'll be playing against Federer. What a quandary for me - I ALWAYS root for Federer.

#69 - Pink Skies At Night ...

... are a sailor's delight. I overslept, so I don't know if the balloons were sailing through Champions Gate this morning, but my guess is: they were.

#68 - This Evening's Clock Tower

This is what the tower looked like this evening when I got back from visiting my Sweet Old Ma.

A funny thing happened on the way to my Mother's this morning. I was about thirty miles into my trip and the radio station started fading, so I hit the 'seek' button, and the DJ on the first station I came to was just reporting that I-75 North was completely blocked at the intersection of I-4 and was backed up in all directions. Of course, that's where I was headed, so I got off I-4 and took a side road that would ultimately lead to Sweet Ma's house. My trip time was increased by an hour, but the first hour of it was pleasurable, because the DJ had just started her show and the music was fantastic - music I've never heard before, with maybe one exception. She was playing Folk Music, all of it with an upbeat message, and quite a bit of it with a Christian message.

It reminded of the first time I heard On An Island by David Gilmour - I was on the Florida Turnpike late at night, stuck in traffic because of a nasty accident, but the hour turned out nice because I heard an interview and most of his album.

Now you know a little more about me! LOL

#64 - Stormy Afternoon

I just beat the rain to get this shot. There was a guy parked next to the spot I pulled into in the Walgreens parking lot, and he was smoking a cigarette with his window open. The things I do to get these shots!! LOL

#55 - New Year's Day Clock Tower

I was supposed to be up and out early, shooting the first sunrise of the New Year, but I overslept, as I mentioned in yesterday's post. So, this is the first photo I took in 2009, and according to my camera, I took the shot at 1:09 PM!! I'm not confused at all, as I'm sure some of you must be by now looking at the time(s) on the clock tower! I prefer to believe my camera, so this photo was shot on 1/1/09 at 1:09! WOW!

This is a view of the north and west faces, shot from the Walgreens parking lot. And, no, I wasn't there for hangover medicine - I don't drink. LOL

#50 - Sundown, Sunup

Last shot last night, first shot this morning. Notice the convertible driving by the sunset clock. I totally forgot about this being THE busiest week of the year in the Orlando area. The snowbirds have arrived and the Christmas season vacationers are here, traffic is horrendous, and I'm p****d, lol. These could be 'locals' driving the convertible, but it is more likely that they are here on vacation - a favorite thing for northerners to do when their home states are in a deep freeze and buried under a pile of snow.

#48 - 12/24/08, Noon Thirty Clock Tower

Christmas Eve day, around 12:30 in the afternoon, north face, also known as John Lennon's face. What a glorious day.

#46 - Sundown Today

I don't think I've ever shot the Clock Tower at sundown before.

#44 - Moon Over Tower

It was just a sliver, but it was bright, and the sky was more than awesome for me yesterday morning.

#41 - Behind The Fence

Just in case I fall down on my personal commitment to post daily, I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas now.

#40 - From The Intersection

I shot this on my way out of Champions Gate this morning. It was a miserable morning - I had a flatter than flat flat - but the day was wonderful otherwise. Not because I did anything special or had any major breakthrough with my ongoing problem, but the weather was glorious, hitting about 78F with a nice breeze. That's enough to turn an otherwise crappy day into something special.

#37 - Through The Tall Grass

This was one of the shots I got yesterday morning during my exciting ChampionsGate photo shoot. Something I try to do every day, by the way, but am not always successful at. I spotted a couple of hot air balloons way up in the clouds when I was looking out my living room window getting the weather forecast for myself. I was immediately encouraged to go chasing the balloons, which turned out to be not all that fruitful, because they were quite a way off. But I did get to shoot my favorite hawk, and the Clock Tower, and some Ring Necked Doves, and the sun and the moon. Oh, what adventure! LOL

#33 - Floating By

I shot this on September 16, 2008. I haven't seen many balloons around lately, probably none in a week or so, and the ones I have seen haven't been very close to the Clock Tower. Good thing for me that I took a lot of photos in the past.
